Park

Nature & Parks

Waterfront area featuring tree-lined walking paths, tennis courts & a playground.

Beautiful place to walk. Gorgeous trees and views. Definitely one of the best parks in Tri-Cities!

Catherine Callahan — Google review

Nice park. Pretty clean and well taken care of. Plenty of big trees, a splash pad for children, a playground, water access for swimming, kayaking and even boating, jet-skiing, etc. Access to various cruise ships and other water vessels and the like from several docks. Nice walking/bike paths. Benches and bench-swings, plus a concession stand and Hawaiian Ice. A few suspicious, possibly homeless, possibly substance abuse type people but they didn’t bother us. Overall we had a pleasant time this day and when we visited before. Would go back again.

lynn christle — Google review

The park is vast and runs right along the river. There is a nicely paved river walk that extends a good distance in both directions. There were paddle board rentals and docks. I was surprised that cruise ship docked there so lots of activity. Restrooms were also available near the playground.

George Scott — Google review

My son and I had a great time at the park. Family friendly real close to the river. Great toys for children ages 2-8

Sean Sanders — Google review

I went on a weekend with my little boy and it was full, but a good kind of full still enough room to use playground and surrounding are. I enjoyed it very much so did my son great memories, I will see you there😁

Great park for all age kids. Mushroom pool, Richland community center, docks, gazebos, and great walking paths! Beautiful park!

The Picky Eater — Google review

A great park any time of year. And it’s only 3-4 min drive from the hospital, so it’s great if you have a wait. There is also a gallery/gift shop right next to it.It has tennis courts, awesome playgrounds (one for 5-12 year olds, one for 2-5 year olds), all of the park benches are swinging benches, a boulder/rock climbing area), a music area with mallet percussion, a water front walking path, and a amphitheater. Beautiful views throughout. You can easily spend 30 minutes or many many hours there. Lots of tress for shade. It even had an AED on site for emergencies! I think there is also a concession stand, perhaps open during summer months. It’s also next door to the community center.Park seems clean and well maintained.

Erin B — Google review

Very beautiful park!! It was amazing to see a hydroplane practice landing on the river. The playground had interactive musical instruments and it was well maintained. The dock was also pretty cool. you can see fish and even a small lobster swiing at the bottom. Would definitely visit again.

I go to Howard Amon park often. There's an awesome path to walk/bike/skate on, lots of area for picnics and activities, and my favorite pastime is sitting along the river and soaking up those healing river vibes. All in all, I really love this park and recommend everyone to come out here and play!

Aleasha deen — Google review

Such a great place for family and friends to gather. Spacious and lots of shade with the Columbia River for splash with the kids. Bbq and relax.

Johanna Nez — Google review

My 1st time here! It was pretty cool! Went for the boat light parade, there was all kinds of things to do and eat! We took the short free train ride to look at the inflatable lights figures, had some free hot cocoa, and enjoyed a free visit and pictures with Santa! Not sure what it looks like during the day, but pretty cool at night and awesome fireworks!

Rhiannon Bockus — Google review

Great atmosphere and clean paved walking trail. Got some alone time exercise in today for my Birthday.

Scenic, expansive landscape of scalloped cliffs & groundwater-fed lakes, plus a visitor center.

Went here while working in Spokane back in October 2018. Amazing views from the ridge. If adventurous could hike the area. If in the area check it out. Go see Grand Coulee Dam as well.

Breath taking place. Went to a lower point of it (Dry Falls Lake) and to the high point (Dry Falls Vista House) where all the beauty can be viewed from above. There are a lot of parks and resorts before getting to the destination, like Parks Lake or Sun Lake resort. There is also a golf corse in that area. Good place for family to spend time at. (Swimming, fishing, playground, hiking). Enjoyed this place with my family.

Joe Morgunov — Google review

We have camped at several WA state parks over the years and Memorial Day weekend 2023 was hands-down the worst weekend camping I have ever experienced, at SunLakes Dry Falls state campground in our travel trailer. Why? Well, 90 percent of the restrooms were locked closed the whole time (on a holiday camping weekend? Nice weather? Why?! Please don't blame it on "staffing" - makes zero sense.) Also - goose droppings literally all over the grass and beach the whole weekend. Um - this is a serious danger to very young kids. Also - mosquitoes. Like, the. Worst. Mosquito. Experience. I. Have. Had.... in my life. To the point that it was a health hazard to me and do my dog. Mosquitoes are a health hazard, as is, DEET, but - what do you do? And before you say "mosquitoes and bugs are just a natural part of camping," here is my rebuttal to that - WA state should have closed this park down and refunded/notified everyone because of this until they got it under control. Period. They are well aware it is a problem because they have bat houses there to try to control them. They have the ability to spray for them and they just refused. It became apparent to me that park revenue was more important to them than the basic health of the campers and pets. Yikes! All these issues yet their camping rates are still so costly. No more Eastern WA camping for us until we verify there are no mosquito issues.

Stunning Missoula flood artifact. The best view is right off the side of the highway north of the state park entrance. Absolutely recommend when in the area.

T T — Google review

It’s absolutely stunning!!! One thing I liked on the way here was the scenic views are all over the place so you can stop and go and take some photos or selfies. the views was amazing and it’s like nonstop.

Ricky M — Google review

Great place to visit, endless veiw at the visitor center. The veiw is even better when you drive down to Dry Falls Lake. Note: The road to the lower lakes is paved but the cut off road for Dry Falls is ruff, rocky and fun.

Jasen Stanley — Google review

Beautiful area make sure to check out the caves too!!! Perfect place for a picnic or a hike or both!!! Bring kayaks because it is worth a paddle!!!

Margit MOB — Google review

Simply one of the most stunning examples of the power of natural forces. Seeing this formed in a matter of hours would have been both terrifying and awe-inspiring. The visitors center is in desperate need of a remodel/ restoration but is loaded with information for those who are curious and would like to know about geologic catastrophism. The park ranger we spoke with was VERY knowledgeable and genuinely enthusiastic about this natural wonder. Please don't hesitate to ask the rangers questions, that's why they're there! Please, please stop and experience the Dry Falls for yourself.

This museum is absolutely huge.. I spent an hour there and that wasn't even close to enough time. I would suggest planning on 2 hours and it's worth the time. The exhibits are wonderfully put together showing how life was back in the day. Lots of local history and cultural information with great artifacts.. I would suggest this place to anyone who appreciates history..

D W — Google review

We really wanted to go inside and spend some time inside the museum, unfortunately we've been traveling with our dogs on our quest to visit all of Washington State and the temperature was above 100⁰ so we couldn't leave the dogs in the truck which meant we either took turns to go in or not go at all... we chose the latter and headed back to the picnic area for lunch and get a couple of shots of the artillery equipment. Hope to someday come back without the dogs.

A. O. — Google review

This museum is not part of the national or state park system. It is a locally-run museum, and admission is only $10 for adults. The exhibits are very well done and informative. It would take almost a whole day to see the whole museum and all it's outdoor buildings. For anyone interested in local history this is a great place to visit.

Robert Halverson — Google review

4th grade field trip with my son was fun here! Volunteer Chuck was very informative and kept the students very in gaged during his presentations at all the exhibits!

Sandra Pacheco — Google review

Excellent display of the history of the area. They have a great Pioneer Village. It was a pleasant museum to visit.

Marsha Smith — Google review

Never been to Walla Walla before until today and this is a really good museum. They had Lewis and Clark reenactors full of information plus lots of really cool stuff to look at and it didn't cost much to get in.

Tracey Kalista — Google review

Had an excellent time with my daughter and her fourth grade class. Anita, our guide (docent), led us through the exhibits and gave us background and context for all of the pieces. Everything was clean, the staff in the gift shop was friendly, and there was a lot to see both inside and out. We appreciated the A/C in the main building and the nicely kept grounds outside. The play structure was fun to have as well (although a little full with so many students).

Sarah Landon — Google review

We were driving and I spotted the open signs. It said they were only open another 30 minutes. I expected it to be a small area we could easily get through. The amazing woman in the gift center worked with us when we realized it was much bigger. Told us all about the Oregon trail program in the summer. We will definitely be back!

Mean Exwife — Google review

Great museum to visit. Will definitely come back for more history. I loved all that I saw inside and out. The staff was so inviting & knowledgeable. They were are also personable to visitors. There is so much here at this museum and surrounding grounds. I have so much more to come back and see/do.

The effort to put activities together for the kids and the ice cream is a plus. It's a weird and different museum, but you can tell the community cares, in general. Great effort and you can learn.

Basalt canyons & a 198-ft. thundering waterfall with an ADA-accessible overlook, plus a campground.

This waterfall is so beautiful! It’s about a 2 hr drive from Spokane. Once you get close You drive down a gravel road to a parking area. And from there you can see the waterfall. ( no hiking required to see it) There is picnic tables around the area for those enjoying the view. Bathrooms are near the parking too!And if your hiking you can walk down the path towards the train tracks. The hike down is steep but it leads you down to a mini water fall and sometimes when the water is high it’s a little slick. Then you continue on the small trail until you’re at the top of the waterfall. It’s fun with groups and I’ve even seen people bring their kiddos too- just be careful.

Destini Agz — Google review

My daughter and I drove here to watch the sunrise. We had the park to ourselves and a gorgeous morning. It is easy to find but also out in the middle of nowhere. I liked it because it is accessible. There are a few trails to wander around, not really a hiking kind of park. But anyone can get to the spot to see the falls. Which are SPECTACULAR. This will be a favorite spot for years to come.

Suzanne Stauss — Google review

Wonderful place. So beautiful that it reminds me that life is worth living. Plenty of trails to explore. Could just stand and stare at it for days. Never gets old. Was especially beautiful today with all the fog rolling in from the valley and then disappearing over the falls.

Sexy Viking — Google review

A nice and humbling jewel on the East side of Washington state, created by lava flows and floods from the last ice age. It's a very secured area, with incredible views on the waterfall and canyon. We were the only ones on a Saturday morning, in the middle of winter. Watch out for the fog on the way there.

Victorien Miniere — Google review

There's a reason that this is Washington State's Waterfall - it's majestic, powerful, and a unique desert type of falls. This park is great for stargazing and grabbing great landscape pictures! I recommend visiting during the Spring when the grass is very green, or Autumn where you can find ice near the falls and yellow hues in the canyon. I absolutely love it here - it does not disappoint.

Adam Stout — Google review

Beautiful park with great views all around. The landscape is so unique! The park has ample picnic tables which makes it a great stop for lunch. The toilets are clean. There is a small hiking trail that was partially closed.

Arjun Bardhan — Google review

Great view of the falls. It is out in the middle of nowhere, but if you are driving past, it is definitely worth the stop.Be careful with little kids. The main area has some fencing, but a large portion of the park has no fencing to keep you from going over the edge. A fall would be 100% lethal. Pets should also be on a leash.

bobby baker — Google review

The official waterfall of Washington State! The 200 foot high waterfall makes for a lovely stop if you're in the area. Located 4+ miles up a well-maintained gravel road, the falls are no longer accessible directly by foot due to a high number of injuries from hikers taking a spill down the steep canyon walls. We visited two vantage points, both offering breathtaking views of the falls.

Lloyd Lindberry III — Google review

Long scenic drive to get here, but worth it in my opinion, I lucked out and was able to drive it during sunset and truly a gorgeous experience! The falls are magnificent and rushing !! There are lots of picnic tables and even bbq pits. Definitely recommend packing lunch or something to grill and coming for a sunset dinner or even lunch. I think there are hikes in and around the area, not 100 % sure

Lauren (Rose) — Google review

Palouse Falls is a 200 foot epic waterfall. Formed from the Palouse River and the Snake River confluence. It is the last waterfall from the ice age floods. The drive out to the falls is a bit of a trek and 100% worth the stunning views. It's literally like something from Jurassic Park. There's plenty of space to sit and enjoy the vistas or you can take a lovely hike along the cliff edges. We chose a small loop trail at the top of the fall since we had the dogs with us. Check out a video from our trip at our YouTube channel. LINKINBIO

Lovely falls, went in yesterday, good flow of water with light drizzle. What a nice view to take the photos with rainbow appearing for few minutes. You've good amount of parking lots with rest rooms and tables to have food and enjoy the view. You need to have discover pass to park the car, you can buy as well here

Porkaipandian Gopalakrishnan — Google review

This fall is like an Oasis in the middle of a desert. You need to drive off road for 2-3 miles. All Wheel Drive car is preferred.Parking here requires discovery pass, else you need to carry $10 cash. You need to keep the cash in an envelope and drop in the box with your car details. You will hardly spend 10-15 mins here.If you have already seen enough waterfalls in Washington state then you may not like this.

SomaSekhar P — Google review

Pretty cool view. Not a lot of things to do here, not sure if there were any trails. Suggest to go early in summer, it was pretty hot by 1 pm. There are some picnic tables in the park and you can buy day pass/discover pass at the pay station.

Shamsun Nahar — Google review

Magnificent!! So glad we stopped! Palouse Falls State Park offers a very clean and accommodating area to park, picnic, use restrooms, and prep for a fun and doable hike around the falls area. It took about five minutes to drive out to the park from the main road. You do need park pass as it is fee-based. You can enjoy the view of the falls from the parking lot if you do not wish to do the hike. It is nagnificent! There is a pay station at the front if entry if you do not have a pass. You are not required to stop there to pay, you can do so after parking.

Brenda Orffer — Google review

Palouse Falls State Park is a Natural Marvel Nestled in Eastern Washington, Palouse Falls State Park is a breathtaking showcase of nature's grandeur. At its heart, the 198-foot Palouse Falls captivates with its thunderous cascade into a rugged canyon. The park also offers tranquil river vistas, where the Palouse River winds through rolling hills, providing serene trails and picturesque picnic spots. What sets this park apart are strategically placed seating areas that offer front-row views of the canyon and river. Palouse Falls State Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts too, with eagles and falcons often gracing the skies. It's an enchanting destination for anyone seeking a profound connection with the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington is a beautiful park that features a Looff Carrousel from 1909, Rotary Fountain, and many other attractions. The park is located on 100 acres of prime land along the Spokane River and it is popular with visitors for its amazing views of the upper falls of the river as well as its expansive grounds.

Beautiful walk for all ages with lots of cool sculptures. Great showcase of the area. Little ice rink track for doing loops that was pretty unique, and a cool chalk art area under the bridges. The park is perfect for an afternoon or evening walk no matter the time of year. Lots of stuff closed, like the indoor carousel- I'm presuming because of Covid. Still a great walk none-the-less to enjoy the day and people/bird watch!

Andrea Keller — Google review

This was an accidental discovery. When I was staying at a nearby hotel, I went out for a walk at night. The river view was very beautiful and quiet. The waterfall was a bit spectacular and the waves were rough! It was a good place for a walking date!

Riverfront park is a must see if you are visiting Spokane for any amount of time. The planners and developers have thought of everything to make this park inviting, accessible to all ages and skill levels, with so many activities to choose from. Bring your camera for 360-degree views from the moment you enter. I was there for lilac season, and that was heavenly!

Super fun park with lots to do for people of all ages! A awesome place to take pictures! You could be so creative and take so many different pictures all over that area. There is an amazing playground, awesome skate park, many walking paths with a spectacular view of the falls at many points!! Everyone was so nice and friendly! It was a great experience!

We attended the Park's 4th of July celebration. It was great! Packed but with all the things that can keep families busy, it was ideal. We went to the fossil park and splash pad, watched the symphony at the pavilion, and then sat in the grass near the clock tower to watch the fireworks. Our kids had a blast! Will be attending next year as well!

Erin Patterson — Google review

This is very nice park location in Downtown of Spokane . There is clock tower, playgrounds. Carrousel, entertainment performance stage, trials . People can spend hours here to participate many activities. Worthy to visit if touring Spokane .

This place is beautiful. It's usually clean. It's my favorite place to go to work or do art. There's always something to do. I love to go there at night and just sit in on the jungle gym. The carousel is also amazing. I'm glad I get to be a part of the park.

Wow! I've driven by this park and have yet to stop by. I'm so glad we did. It's absolutely beautiful here! The river makes this such a special place. The park is maintained well and I didn't see any liter. I did not see public restrooms here, but I'm sure they exist. The walking trails are paved and even, I was even able to walk with my cane without any problems. I definitely will be back! Thank you City of Spokane for maintaining this gem of a park!

Jenny Lynn — Google review

Wonderful public area for families, friends and large groups! There is a fun ice skating and roller skating rink here, a carousal, and food vendors. Occasionally they have live music and really cool farmers markets.

Jessica Silvernail — Google review

Great place to walk, jog, bike, and run. Gets busy. Lots of things going on all at the same time. The trails are nice. I would recommend always having someone with you, there’s a lot of homeless people there and no security what’s so ever. Some areas are trashy and can small like marijuana, like many places around this city.Stay close to any young ones. Stay in crowded areas. Watch for the bikers because there are blinds spot. People are supposed to walk their skateboard and bike but you know how people respond to regulations.Lots to do and see. Very lively. Take precautions thats what I’m telling you.Oh and people drive fast so watch twice before crossing. Still a lot of ricer on the West Coast (I’m from the other side of the States).

Meng Thao — Google review

River front park was a good experience it is very urban which means that it is also quite busy and parking is a nuisance. The best way to get around river front park is on the Electric scooters and/ or bikes as the park is so big and has plenty of pathways. That being said riverfront park is indeed very urban with fencing around all of the river and falls, there isn't a lot of nature to actually enjoy which is both fortunate and unfortunate. If you're going in for a walk this park is definitely big enough to get your steps in, but most of what you'll see is sidewalk fence and some grass. There is I think 3 bridges that go over the water, one of them is currently under construction as is a good portion of the park.

Ayperos — Google review

Great place, definitely worth a stroll. Plenty of places to walk and beautiful views of the river and falls. Very dog friendly

Took a road trip from Tri-Cities and spent most of the day here, rode the Numérica SkyRide which was short but had a cool view, 1st time on the Lime Scooters which we explored on for about an hour, left to watch a football game at Buffs, then returned to see the lights at the Pavilion. Overall it’s a great hang out spot, lots of things to see & do, we really enjoyed our little get away.

One of the most beautiful parks I've ever been to when in full bloom!! You can spend hours there just walking around and enjoying the beautiful scenery! This is a Spokane staple and a must to any visitors! Get out and enjoy this incredible piece of History!

Adam Marchant — Google review

One of my favorite parks to visit growing up! Always nice to stop by when visiting Spokane. They have a beautiful rose garden and the conservatory is nice too. If you make it during lilac season also really beautiful.

Alona Lit — Google review

What an unexpected slice of paradise! We missed the Japanese Gardens, it closes at 6pm, so I definitely have to get back here.My visit was mid July. The roses appeared to be at the end of their season but wow! There were still plenty there and I could smell them before I could see them.Thank you Spokane for a beautiful and huge park. It's so serene here. I hope the people who care for this place are adequately appreciated and thanked for what has to be a lot of maintenance work!

Beautiful park. Wish I could’ve seen this with all the gorgeous flowers 🌺 🌸. Can’t wait until they all bloom. Children’s playground 🛝 available along with a pavilion picnic table. Large open places to walk your dog and to run around with children. Restroom available as well.

Aileen M Cruz — Google review

This a very large park which contains several distinct botanical attractions. We loved the Japanese garden and Koi pond. The English gardens were also very impressive. The indoor conservatory was great. My camera couldn't keep up.

This is a must for any visitor to Spokane. Set on a beautiful hillside, multiple themed parks in one. We started at the top of the park and walked down to take it all in! There is a formal garden, rose garden, Dalia garden and a large pond. So cool!

Ronald Ewert — Google review

This is a beautiful park. I gave it 5 starts, but would have given 4 1/2 stars if available. Only because their directional signage is very not clear. The gardens are well cared for and maintained. The conservancy was amazing, it has a variety of cacti and other exotic plants, I love cacti. The rose gardens not only had great variety, but I could smell the roses walking through. The Japanese garden was so peaceful. I could go on, I highly recommend a visit to the park. Talked your time and take enjoy it.

TA Miller — Google review

This is such a beautiful park. But you need to allow a full day or more than one day to see it all.. lilacs, roses, the Japanese garden. Amazing!

Melanie Wilmar — Google review

Nice relaxing walks with lots of color. In the fall the trees give you a ton of color and in the spring and summer it shows up in all the flowers. Very pretty park. I can see why you want a camera with you when you visit. 📷 😉

The lights were super cool and family friendly! It's also a great place for dogs!! Bring a container for hot cocoa, because it's starting to get cold 🥶

This was my first visit to Manito Park, and I would definitely recommend it. We went through the first week of November, and most of the annuals (like the Rose Gardens) had already been cut back. Workers were clearing garden beds as we walked through. Even with some missing, the walk was still beautiful. Gorgeous trees and perennials abound! I am excited to return in Winter for their Christmas Lights & then again in the Spring. With so much hussle & bussle in downtown Spokane, this lovely gem is a break from the headaches and offers a few mintutes of peace and tranquility.

Katelynn Barton — Google review

This might be my favorite park of all time. So many fun little trails and great main gardens. The Japanese garden is super peaceful. If your a park person this is the place to be.

Joel Hanses — Google review

Love love love this place ! It's the only place I resort to go to on special occasions when I don't have extra money to play with . I go to this place on my birthday every year . The cactus green house is my FAVORITE. The Rose Garden is a rose growing competition, all types of new rose species by growers. Then get judged and placed accordingly. All individual growers create their own unique rose and title them and place in competition . Its interesting ! The two toned bright pink and orange and white all in one rose..are my fave. The anise is a fave as well.

This scenic, 150-acre natural monument is known for panoramic views from its 3,612-ft. butte.

Beautiful park with beautiful views. We were able to identify at least 15 different flower species on one small part of the hill. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area! Also, it’s wheelchair accessible. So it’s a lovely place to get into nature if you have limited mobility.Lastly, there is a bathroom at the top of the hill if you need it!

Camila Matamala-Ost — Google review

The view is breathtaking from the top, but there is only a small parking area and a restroom at the top. It's kind of a scary ride as the narrow road winds it's up the side of the butte. There is very nice, small picnic area at the bottom of the butte. We were surprised to see a badger wandering down the road. It ignored us.

Kitty Rothwell — Google review

Beautiful scenic drive leading up to the peak! Unfortunately it was super overcast and cloudy on the day that I went, still enjoyable I recommend driving out there and taking a look ! There are outhouses all along the way

Lauren (Rose) — Google review

For the longest time I wanted to come here, but never had time when in the general area. This time I did visit and I'm glad I did. The views from the top all around are pretty amazing. Also rather interesting geologically as Steptoe Butte predates the Columbia flood basalts. Access is by a narrow paved road that, apart from some nasty potholes, was adequate.

T T — Google review

Be careful on the spiral winding road up and down as it’s a bit narrow and two-way traffic, but the views from the top are worth it. There’s plenty of parking on two levels. There’s some fun and interesting info boards at the top. 360 degree views. Even during the Smokey time when there were fires from crop burns and excessive heat and dry conditions, the views were expansive.

Jori Schellenberger — Google review

This is a must visit if you are in Eastern Washington during late spring/early summer. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Discover pass is required, else you pay $10 entry fee. The drive to the top takes roughly about 10-12 mins. There are multiple potholes and there are areas where there is no guard railings on the sides. The drive is not tough but can be a little challenging if you are scared of heights. But the views from the top makes everything worth it.

Arjun Bardhan — Google review

Amazing yet scary drive to the top. Views are spectacular as you go up the road. End of summer and the hills are a golden brown color. Lil hazy but you can still see quite far.

Alex Rieser — Google review

You can see long distance view from top of this place, I came here with an expectation to see full lust of green fields, but not fully green but still an awesome view. It was lightning and thunder when we went to top, enjoyed the cloud covers and slight drizzle, worth coming back in a different season. Roads are very narrow to go the top, at the entrance of the park, you have few car parking and rest room

Porkaipandian Gopalakrishnan — Google review

A must go on your bucket list. I’ve been to many farm lands in many countries . I think the area has the most beautiful countryside in the world. It beats English Yorkshire Dale, French champagne vineyards, Alsatian wine road, and Rhein river valley. Tuscany county country side is 1% of this.

fiftystrings timegate — Google review

The trip up is a tiny bit precarious but not super bad. The view from the top is amazing though. There aren't many places I've seen that allow you to see such a far distance. The patches of flowers and shadows cast by the clouds are awesome to witness.

Fuzzy Pandas — Google review

Best place to catch the sun rise or the sun set! We got a clear evening so we could see for miles! The Palouse hills in the distance did not disappoint! We went during the week so not crowded at all. The sign says it’s open from dusk to Dawn. You do need the discover pass or a day pass. $10 or buy the discover pass online and it’s good for all state parks in Washington and you’ll have it on your phone. Believe the park pass is $35 for the year. The road to get up is almost one vehicle at some spots. Two medium to small cars can easily fit going opposite ways. No railing till you get to the very top. So just drive cautiously if you’re not used to driving up a steep hill. Also there are plenty of pot holes so be aware of the road conditions so you don’t damage your vehicle or tires! Bring your lunch or dinner packed with some drinks and come enjoy the view up top with your friends or loved ones. So worth it! Also, there are some picnic tables and a restroom at the bottom/start of the road out. Be aware of deer as well. We saw a couple going up in the evening. So if you’re still reading this, think no more. It’s worth the trip to catch the amazing views from above! Enjoy!

I like the community here and all the students are awesome! Professors are either awesome or suck! The administration is terrible with money and there are a lot of mandatory fees because of their debt. We got a new President last year so hopefully that changes!

We went to pick up a foster animal from the animal hospital. The staff (interns)are very friendly and helpful. Answered all our questions and concerns. So glad that there is a college that teaches veterinarians and veterinary assistance. So glad there are people that are willing and wanting to work with animals. Kudos to those people!

Great education, beautiful campus, nice community. Parking is not good and there should be better options. The Pullman transit is easily accessible however the app doesn’t work well. I really enjoyed the UREC and the libraries were very nice. There are always different things to do around campus such as student organizations or greek life.

Yes it costs money but all colleges do. The real difference is WSU is worth it!!!!!!!!! I spent my four years there and had the time of my life. The education was excellent for the most part and as usual there are some nutty professors. The friends and connections you make in Pullman will last you a lifetime. On campus housing great if you want the social life. If you want peace and quiet find find an old farm house outside of town, I had an old house with 40 acres back in the 90’s for $400 per month, god I miss that place.Go Cougs!!!!!!!

The Greek houses have more alcohol then a bar yet they don't have a liquor license. They send them into Walmart and load up just under reporting requirements then get the underage ones vulnerable drunk then take advantage of them.Greek row littered with liquor bottles and beer cans and bottles, literally looks like a failed AA meeting.Perhaps Greek row should be shut down and used as housing for the homeless / safe public injection house. Either way I don't think it would look much different. This reminds me more of an adult daycare then an actual place of learning. These alcoholics demand food delivery on campus and wsu charges the delivery drivers to park just to pick up / drop off food.Wouldn't surprise me if these brats complain about the cost of living, demand a higher minimum wage, and demand 0 accountability. Betting they are also going for useless degrees too.Perhaps WSU should implement weekly mandatory drug and alcohol testing for staff and student.Until this bs changes I wouldn't take on debt that makes you pay out the wazzu for useless degrees. And no, im not paying for your junk debt. You took the loan out, you can pay for the loan. Make better choices on what you are learning.

The engineering department operates the public radio system for the east side of the state. If I were an engineering student looking for a career in radio, I'd most certainly look somewhere else. I just wrote this review up on my personal socials, but will share it here:This system is an absolute train wreck... I listen to their stream. Since the first of the year, the levels were so far out of wack that it was impossible to listen to... national programming was at one level, local (station breaks, etc) were vastly louder. Then for a while it was the reverse. Today and yesterday the streaming link is just dead. The engineering and local programming is out of the U in Pullman. You know, the extreme red part of WA next to Idaho. Maybe it's just impossible for this admittedly blue leaning news source to flourish... maybe the soil is too acidic. Their actual news is pretty balanced, and they take time to explore the significant news and issues... like a couple weeks ago, they spent an hour following up on the State of Texas' promised mental health treatment of Uvalde's kids after the massacre. Because as we all know, mass killings are a mental health issue, not a gun issue. So I listened intently. Not today. Like, this is publicly supported by listeners. How can they have listeners... they appear to be running us off as fast as they can incompetently operate this dumpster fire of a station.Edit 9/25 levels between local and national streaming content again so wildly different as the make this dumpster fire station unlistenable, again. I am pretty sure this collection of right wingers is determined to sabotage this lefty content... I mean, look at how close it is to Idaho. Dang this pisses me off. Ick, this is not an engineering exercise, it's a sad travesty.

I've worked here for 5+ years now. Parking is exploitative, charges 200% the normal fine and actively targets faculty that they know need to park in certain areas in order to do their jobs effeciently and properly. Parking passes are in the thousands of dollars and faculty pay is nowhere near high enough to afford it. Both students and staff have their legitimate appeals rejected regularly and when you talk to them they're extremely rude. Thats just parking... tuition was raised 3% "due to the lack of enrollment" when everyone here knows its because the athletic department went millions over budget and refuses to take a pay cut. This is a good university if you want a medicre education and fine of at least $150 per day for no good reason.

Peachy Sunshine — Google review

School doesn't care about anything but money. Try for 4 weeks to get a hold of someone in accounts receivable to get my charges on a payment plan, no one ever answers, left multiple voicemails never hear anything back. Im just trying to pay my bill and there is seemingly no way I can get in contact with anyone in the office. Tried to call main info line to try and see if I could actually get transferred to anyone in the department, woman on help line extremely rude and difficult, raised her voice at me twice over a minute long call. I don't live in Pullman anymore and there is no way I can "walk in" to the office. Employees are lazy, have no customer service skills, and have no idea what they're talking about. Throughout my time at this school there was a never ending stream of misinformation and neglect toward individual students. So called 'representatives' from the dean of students have repeatedly not answered emails when they say they will when you're face to face. Terrible experience with administration. Will not be attending any of their campuses again even though I live within miles of a satellite campus. I would rather go anywhere else than deal with Washington State University ever again.

Unethical business practices. They take away entire parking lots that students and their own employees pay for (with a super expensive annual permit) on game day Friday's. They then sell those same parking spots to campers with RV's. Students and employees are left with no parking those days. Or have to walk really far.

Outdoor Activities

Hands down the best course I have played in Idaho or the area. Great condition, GPS on the carts. There is a lot of native grass, but no water which is a little different. I love to walk when I play but would not want to walk this course as it’s very spread out. Wish I would have taken more photos though. Also Bluetooth speakers on the carts which is very nice. Fairways probably impressed me more than anything else. Will hopefully make it back next year!

Kerry O. — Google review

Exceptional golf and easily the best course in Idaho. The practice area alone is top tier with a separate short game area and full driving range. The course was in pristine condition and presented a lot of challenges or choices on how you could play each hole. The rolling wheat hills were beautiful and separated each hole so that you really can't see another fairway from your current hole. The par 3s were very long but had stunning downhill views (200 yards from the white tees). Greens weren't rolling very fast when I played it, which was fine with me but some of the greens weren’t in the best of shape if I had any complaint at all. Also practice green was closed. Got to see a moose and a calf walk across the 10th fairway which was special. Played here twice and both rounds were under 4 hours which was pleasing. Pro shop had a pretty big selection of goods and the staff was nice. If you are ever in this part of the country this course is a MUST play. Especially for the price, this course is way better than Coeur d'Alene resort course (circling raven is less than half the price of CDA resort). Come check it out you will not be disappointed.

Brad Jones — Google review

Will be making the trip again with out any hesitations.

Amazing golf course ⛳️ I would rate it the best in the area. It is a very long course if you are walking if you are carting they have really nice gps carts. The practice facility is huge and the pro-shop has everything. We took the kids for a practice round and we were the only ones on the course pretty much it was amazing 🤩 highly suggest this course

The scope a size of this course is enormous. I love that the course is in front of you. No blind/trick shot necessary. Generous fairways for a short hitter like me. Played from white tees it was less intimidating for a first time player. Good distances between holes. Very fair price.

While you're down town enjoying the activities of Coeur d'Alene Tubbs hill is a great walk and get away so close to downtown. Places to stop and enjoy views of the lake.

A very nice hike around the shoreline that kids can do with adult help in a few places. The view of the lake is spectacular and there are lots of trails that lead down to the waters edge. Additionally there are steep trails that go to the peak. Not the best view due to trees but really good for the heart rate! Overall this is a great family hiking place right in downtown Coeur d' Alene!

We loved hiking here! It was quite the exercise. We took the opportunity to use the little side trails that take you down to look at the water. I would love to set up a hammock there sometime. Beautiful views! It's not wheel chair or stroller accessible, as there are lots of roots and rocks to clamor up.

Dog friendly hike. Starting out the trail was a bit difficult to find, but some hikers walked past and we figured it out after that. Beautiful hike.

It was amazing, but I'm very tired. A few trails for everyone 😁, we chose the loop trail, the whole trail was up or down, but the views were fantastic. We took many photos, nature is beautiful. There were many small and large rocks, bridges, the trail led among conifers but sometimes you walked in the sun without a bit of shade 😁. It was worth it although I had the moment that I could not cope, I would not come 😳. I came, I overcome fatigue 😀

There are a lot of uses for logs on the lake. A substantial amount of them have broken free and lay haphazardly along the edge of the water. For being so far out in this wilderness that part was disappointing. Otherwise it was very nice to be out on the lake!

The second-largest lake in Idaho is less than ten miles east of downtown, with a comfortable surface temperature of around 70 °F in the summer months.Conveniently, the largest city on the lakeshore, Coeur d’Alene, is right next door to Post Falls, which puts a wealth of amenities and experiences at your fingertips. You can take a scenic cruise on the lake, walk a network of well-maintained trails, visit attractions like a cute llama farm, dine in the charming downtown area, go fishing or simply lie back next to this natural wonder.City Park has an exquisite lakeside promenade and a stretch of beach, while McEuen Park has recently been renovated with a large splash pad that children adore in summer.Lastly, Kokanee salmon migrate to the lake in fall and winter to spawn by the gravelly shoreline, and this event attracts dozens of bald eagles, best viewed at Wolf Lodge Bay, a few miles east of Coeur d’Alene proper.

Silverwood is the greatest. I have been going since I was a kid and it still is great. The rides aren’t too intense but they give just enough adrenaline that you get the rollercoaster high. Boulder beach has really expanded in recent years and is so fun.I love the classic old time feeling that silverwood has. It has kept its charm and I hope that never changes. The new stunt pilot ride is a lot of fun but I am partial to the wooden roller coasters.I can promise you will have fun at this park. It is more than enjoyable. The staff told me the last time I was there that the best time to go is a couple days after the Fourth of July. It is always their slowest days of the year because everyone has to get back to work.If you are considering it, I recommend going for it. You won’t regret it!

The coasters are good fun (Aftershock is epic); actors and train ride is a good time for all; magic show (Nick and Mad Mike especially) is a great way to break up the adrenaline fuelled fun; and the park’s theme and environment is genuinely beautiful and well maintained.Great place for a family, thrill seeking adults like myself and anyone who wants to escape for a fun adventure in Idaho.Yeehaw Silverwood!

WHAT a great park! Homey and small, but with some really good rides, great atmosphere, and friendly people, both at work and as visitors. Parking is across the highway and you walk through a tunnel to the park. Then it's left to the theme park and right to the train and the water park.I didn't know what was good here, and was able to ride Aftershock twice right away. But Tremors is my favorite ride here, followed closely by the single-rail Stunt Pilot coaster, which loads super fast! Every park should have one of these!I was done with all the rides by 3 and went to the water park for a while. But I didn't realize until later that the train only runs once an hour and the popular show is only on some of those trips, so I missed the show, which I regret. It's kind of out of the way of everything else, so you really have to make an effort to get to that part of the park. I did get a nice trip nearer sunset, however. The magic show is really good! The variety show in the saloon is pretty campy and not much space to watch it in.I appreciate that there are quieter areas of the park. Just behind the kid's rides is a pretty park to rest in, and near the train is a theater that plays 3 stooges all day if you need a dark and quiet place to sit down.

We had a lot of fun. The lifeguards were straight up on it and were really awesome with the kid. The variety show and train ride was so much fun. We had a blast with the rides. Really clean and the employees appeared to really enjoy what they were doing. Even the ride operators were generally having fun and making the day enjoyable. Thank you for making this 7th birthday for my daughter a blast!

Great experience at Silverwood for their Scarywood Halloween event! The details are so intricate and the decorations and haunts were very elaborate! The Scaries (characters) were exciting, friendly and helpful when we couldn’t find certain places in the park. All staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The rides were SO fun at night! Highly recommend! It was very cold and the only thing I could think of to make it better is if there were more warming stations throughout the park. We will be back again. Excited to go to Silverwood this summer for more rides.

I was originally going to take my grand kids to California, but decided to head to Idaho to Silverwood and what a great choice that was.We arrived the first day after school let out. The parking is $10 we arrived at 10:45 am we found a spot immediately we were in the park and on the first ride within 1/2 hour. The lines weren’t very long 10 minutes at the most except the ferries wheel because it’s weighted balance, so they take time to make sure your on it correctly which at first can seem frustrating when your the first person in the line yet the last one on the ride. The food is very reasonable $10 for a decent high protein yet fried food, they have a variety of places to eat I had a burrito bowl with chicken and yet it was only $10 as well. The people who work there are friendly and helpful a great staff. The park is clean we didn’t get a locker but the have them, they also offer refill drink containers. The gift shops have fair prices I never felt like they were gouging prices, like they do at the movies and other theme parks the reasonable.I will be retuning here. The quarter arcade was a win, win when grandma (me) was tired, I gave them $20 and they played for 1.5 hours as I recoup.I bought 2 day passes for 5 3 adults and 2 children and it was only a little over $450 what a great value for all the fun we had.Thank you Silverwood & staff for making our first trip of the summer great.

I enjoyed my time at the Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho! The place is clean and beautiful.I like it better than Disney Land and Universal Studios. We went three days in a row, and enjoyed every second of it. The food that you purchase inside of the Park was really good, and the kids loved it as well. It is definitely a good choice for your family to create memories and relax. It’s was not hectic or too busy. I am definitely taking my grandson there once he’s of age.

Silverwood Theme park is an epic adventure that everyone from all ages needs to experience. From the rides and roller coasters, to the water park and slides…the day was filled with memories and screams from speed. The amusem*nt side of the park has it all. For the young and the more advanced thrill seeker. My favorite was Spin Cycle…and it’s upside down twists and turns. Worth the ride! The roller coasters are fast, I mean fast! For the water park, the slides were amazing. You have everything from fast plunges to twists and turns, in tubes to open air excitement. The water was warm everywhere we went. Plus clean! The lazy River hit the spot for us adults too.For as many people were there, the staff was amazing, the park was clean, the food was amazing and I highly recommend the Huckleberry Shakes and Chicken Finger baskets. We loved it, it truly is a great full day of memories in one place.

I have been to all the parks, just about. The Mouse, The Flags, The Orlando, but this place is something special. The feeling we got when we entered was unmatched by the other guys. There was a tangible sweetness to the atmosphere. Every employee greeted us with a smile and thoughtfulness. They genuinely enjoyed working there. The grounds are breathtaking. The grounds crew has no equal. They take great care of the entire park. The RV Park is the best way to go. Clean. Quiet. Wonderful. Our family is planning to come back again and again.

To say Silverwood is perfection is an understatement! From the moment you walk through the under highway tunnel, you are transported to a Mary Poppins feel. It's refreshing and a wonderful escape. Every employee was delightful, and the entire experience was fantastic! Wesley and the entire front gate crew sang Happy Birthday to my daughter, it was insanely special! The waits are long for favorite attractions, but being allowed to bring in food and drink helps pass the time...I saw several families picnic in line-so smart! Sometimes, I reflected that the lines were a good thing as I saw families and groups of friends talking to each other and playing games. I rarely saw anyone on electronics. The train ride is a must, Ranger Ruby and Edwin III are hysterical! Make time for the steam engine ride. The magic show with Nick is superb...like Vegas quality GOOD!! I wish we had attended it more than 1x. You will laugh, gasp and wonder for sure! The food is reasonably priced and the souvenirs aren't unreasonable. I appreciate this so much as it shows enjoyment over greed. It's fun how some rides came from bigger theme parks. I recognized 1 from Six Flags as I grew up 2 miles from Six Flags Over Texas. We attended on Grandparents Weekend and Saturday was packed, Sunday was 2/3 less full. I appreciate the free Grandparents ticket...again...enjoyment over greed. I'm looking forward to our next Silverwood adventure. It's worth the 8+ hour drive, in my opinion. Oh, and if you like to RV, the RV Park looked fantastic!Thank you, Silverwood, for being a holdout for American values and family traditions. I appreciate the memories. Cheers!

We recently visited Silverwood and had an absolutely amazing time! From start to finish, our experience was filled with laughter, excitement, and memorable moments that we'll cherish forever. What impressed us the most was not just the incredible attractions, but also the affordability that made our family day out even more enjoyable. The variety of rides and attractions at Silverwood catered to every member of our family, from the thrill-seekers to the more laid-back adventurers. The roller coasters were exhilarating, and the water park provided a refreshing break from the summer heat. We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and maintenance of the park, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all.One of the highlights for us was the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. They were always ready to assist with a smile, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the park. The efficiency in managing the queues and ensuring everyone's safety was commendable, making our visit stress-free.What sets Silverwood apart is its affordability without compromising on the quality of the experience. The ticket prices, food options, and souvenir choices were reasonable, allowing us to make the most of our day without breaking the bank. This aspect made our visit not only entertaining but also budget-friendly, a rare combination in the world of theme parks. In conclusion, Silverwood exceeded our expectations in every way. It provided a perfect blend of fun, excitement, and affordability that made it an ideal destination for a family day out. We wholeheartedly recommend Silverwood to anyone seeking a fantastic and budget-friendly adventure. We can't wait to return and create even more cherished memories at this fantastic amusem*nt park!

This family owned theme park has something for everyone! (And we didn't even make it to the water park!)Our family group included ages 0 to 60, some much slower than others, but everyone had a blast...with exception of the infant who was too young to be aware of anything. From wild coasters to milder log ride and children's rides; from a very enjoyable scenic train ride to comedy shows, this amazing park has got you covered. You'll also find reasonably priced food and drink options. Many of the attractions are handicap accessible and employees go the extra mile to help you learn the ropes and avoid long lines. (Just pick up a courtesy pass at the information booth when you enter the park).Silverwood has a great website with helpful tips to make your visit the best! Check it out if you haven't already.

Kelly Wooten — Google review

The roller coasters were fun but I can't say the same thing for the water park. The lines were huge for the water park rides, and I am talking about 40 minutes wait, but the rides themselves were fine but not very fun. The roller coasters were amazing, though there were 7 of them and the waiting was long as well. I just hope that the people who let the riders in learn to count well since they let more people than there supposed to be and the people behind me got on but I had to wait another turn.

Olesya Samarkina — Google review

Tons of stuff to do, whole park is clean even though there were lots of people. 2 day pass with break in between is best. Plan for one day at water park and another for the theme park. Food is reasonably priced but lines can be long if it is busy. Would recommend and we are definitely coming back next year!

Alex Tonu — Google review

Great place! This could easily be a multi day thing if you want to experience everything. Lots of cool places to see and fun rides. The wait time for the rides wasn’t even bad, we went on a sunny Saturday and they kept everything running smoothly so that we didn’t have to wait very long for the roller coasters. The waterpark had longer wait times, but I feel like that’s to be expected when it’s a warm and sunny day. We enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river which didn’t have waits instead!

Erika Melby — Google review

What a clean, well maintained, and established theme park. So many rides with a variety of food shops and shopping experiences. Did all of the roller coaster except for 1. We spent an entire day up until evening time and enjoyed the lights, food, and atmosphere. Only recommendation would be having more lights along the walking path for nighttime and would be nice to have the ride signs light up. Also the log ride was very dark at night and would have like to see more added to the journey along the river. So much to see and do, it's a great day and night trip. Located close to Spokane and all amenities.

Lakefront state park boasts hiking/skiing trails, water sports, disc golf, picnic areas & campsites.

Gorgeous, Breathtaking, Ever lasting Memories of Nature, Farragut Park is absolutely an amazing experience. The trails are awesome, durung the summer time you can swim in a few spots in the lake. The sights are something to stare at for hours. It's truly an awesome park.I do wish some trails where a bit more maintenance and some under brush cleared a bit better possibly bring a 4 wheeler with a chipper attached, 4 man crew with chainsaws, could use the fallen logs for mulching. Just my opinion.

My wife and I love this place. It is become our regular go to place for outdoor activities camping bike riding and hiking. There’s miles and miles and miles of trails and let’s not forget frisbee golf. Campsites are nice and spread apart people are friendly. Great RC flying field.Unfortunately Idaho state parks doubled their costs for out of state residence which makes a Farragut State Park and all other Idaho parks unaffordable. Yearly vehicle pass is now $80 and a one night stay is $74.We will continue to go on daily basis but probably not to camp anymore. If you’re an Idaho resident I highly recommend this place. And if you want to get out for a day of hiking and biking there isn’t a better place around.

Tom Neese — Google review

Farragut State Park is a great place to go for camping or hiking. Lots of trails with views of the lake. The day use area had large covered picnic areas with horse shoe pits and volley ball nets nearby. Lots of room for many people to gather together. There were swings for younger kids to play on too. Camping cabins were also real close to the day use area. The cabins appeared to be fairly new and well maintained. A note on the cabin said that the cabins has been cleaned after each use. Each cabin had its own fire pit and picnic table. The cabins also had electric lights and an air conditioner. No bathroom inside the cabin, but a bathroom facility was a short walk from the cabins. The only issue would be if someone had to get up during the night it would be a little walk in the dark. There were close trails near the day use area that were well maintained. Very beautiful spot.

Clean and organized. Lots to do both on and off the water. I loved that RV parking options were better than many camping areas with extra room to breathe and have a little privacy.Trails were fun. Bayview was also fun and full of history.

We spent the day at Beaver Bay within Farragut State Park and it was perfectly lovely! It was 102° in town, but not for us! Under the shaded trees and next to the water, it felt like a perfect 75°. Unbelievable beauty and views!

What can I say, I love to visit the state parks. I almost always stop in the visitor center to see what's new and chat with the clerks. In the spring I look forward to hearing and watching the birds, ground squirrels and other critters. Walking the various trails, the people have been generally friendly. Of course, gotta stop and check out the wild flowers.

Nice group site. Plenty of space. 5 frisbee golf courses. newly marked hiking biking trails 14.5 mile perimeter trail fun less than 500 elevation change

Wa Nu — Google review

The park itself is nice. Campspots are not close to the lake but are good in size and provide some privacy. Great, groomed hiking trails. As other reviewers stated, staff is not welcoming. The individual checking us was unfriendly; almost flippant. Two of us drove to the S. Entrance with our scooters. The entry fee is per vehicle, so we decided to park one. The park would not allow us to park at the entrance. As we drove back to Bayview, a parking enforcement truck came out of nowhere. The park boundaries are deceiving because the entry gates are inside the park. Luckily for us, we had seen the signs and parked in town where parking was hassle free.

I came to play the 5 disc golf courses and was not disappointed. There are a huge number of camping spaces including lots of full hookup RV sites, but we opted to stay in a camping camp that had heat and AC. Park has tons of lake frontage, trails, etc.All in all an outstanding park with lots of space and lots of amenities.

goinupthegranby — Google review

Beautiful property and quiet, shaded, cared for campground. Stayed in Whitetail and were able to come without a reservation. Campground bathrooms were super clean. Easy access to potable water. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bees at our site. Minimal other bugs, though.

Marina Schmitt — Google review

I spent one night in a camping cabin in the winter. I thought paying $69 plus a reservation fee was quite expensive considering there are no winter services in the campground, you have to hike your stuff in to the cabin, and you have to clean it yourself. That being said the cabin was nice and it was a great experience. When I checked in the ranger was very unhelpful. I had gone to ski but there was no snow so I asked about hiking in the park. She told me any hiking is good, and didn't point me to any specific trails. She really didn't want to interact with me. I couldn't find any maps in the park, and didn't have internet so I drove around aimlessly for a while then decided to leave. Being a ranger seems like such a cool job, don't know why this ranger didn't want to help me enjoy the park.

Ellie Knight — Google review

While the park itself is lovely, they have some of the most rude and disrespectful people working for them. The young lady at check in was particularly disrespectful and it seems typical of the people I have met there. The last time I went to the park was about 15 years ago and they were equally terrible then. I figured maybe they had changed but I was wrong.

Jesse Moore — Google review

Camp sites are clean and good sized, boat launch is very accessible eazy in and out, fair amount of parking and prep areas. Plenty to do, beach, boat, kayak, cycle, hike. We really enjoyed our time there..

Patrice Garcia — Google review

We arrived at this park a little after 10 pm we had booked on line, didn’t see anything telling me to check in at the front office the park is extremely large. When we were checking out the ranger ask who we were and if we had checked in, I stated I did, I did think I had to since I book & paid on line.He said even though we were checking out, we had to check in or we would get a ticket.I was disappointed he made us (used his position of authority) to go check in even though he took all our information saw that we were leaving. We find the front office which isn’t located in any of the camps site it’s its own section. With the shortage of workers in this country this park has plenty of employees to enforce rules that make no significant, when he already had written our information down visually saw and verbally spoke with us.I check in only to be told to have a great day see you soon, that took an extra 1/2 hour because of parking and waiting in line to report I was checking in and out at the same time. The park itself is big and nice, the toilets are at moments they do stink, they offer full hook-ups as well as tent sites. We chose not to use the toilets instead use our portable one the bathrooms were hit & miss.I guess when you allocate more money hiring people to signing in people then checking bathrooms you end up with unclean bathrooms. The lake is kind of hard to find I would say drive to it or ride your bike, lots of trails, the lake is absolutely beautiful. The park is very clean and quite and well maintained.

Schweitzer is a mountain resort that offers skiing, tubing, dining, spa services, and kid-friendly activities. Visitors have praised the beautiful terrain and well-maintained slopes but have raised concerns about limited parking capacity. Despite this issue, guests appreciate the lack of long lines for lifts and reasonable prices for food and drinks. The staff is described as generally happy, with manageable lift lines even on crowded days. The resort is also noted for its family-friendly environment and snowboarder-approved learner hill.

Stayed at the new Humbird. it was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff were very attentive. I was on crutches, they were accommodating. The restaurant in the hotel was very good. It was nice to walk around the village at the base of the mountain. As everyone already knows, the views are amazing. This place won’t be a secret for long.

What a beautiful mountain!Staff was mostly happy, perhaps not the most attentive bunch, but they clearly enjoy the job.Lots of runs to choose from! Even on a fairly crowded day, lines were very manageable. They have a parking lot lift that doubles as an epic learner hill. 100% snowboarder approved! Snowboarders have a notoriously difficult time learning on most bunny hills, they're just too flat. Not here!Very family friendly!Didn't check out the top restaurant, but the base has a cafeteria style set up with lots of seating and a bar upstairs.Restrooms were a bit of a challenge. I found two at the base, one required stairs and the other was in the rental area, so busy and bustling in the opening and closing times. All and all, it was a wonderful day and I have no legitimate complaints!

I am staying at the Selkirk Lodge. 3 days in on a 6 day trip. No ski lockers were available when I checked in an after checking numerous times still no ski lockers available. You can’t take them to your room so they are stored willy nilly in the baggage room. The baggage room is left open with no monitoring and people taking numerous skis out with no accountability. Also the rooms seem to have limited hot water for showers. Nothing like cold water in the middle of a warm shower. There is no written list of amenities or where they are located. When using the hot tub you have to go through a construction are with tools and stuff to trip over. The food choices are limited and the bus into town does not run at night. We have a very nice room but so many other thing fall short. This may be my last time here. To many other better choices.

We went for the ultimate summer experience. Although it wasn’t terrible I didn’t find it was worth the money. It was incredibly slow and most of the staff were just sitting around. We were especially excited about the zip lining. It was fun but since we had to carry the equipment back up we only did it twice.I might change my review if I come back to ski in the winter 🤷‍♀️

Lodging only review: I love skiing the mountain, BUT Our lodging experience for second year in a row was terrible! January 2024 we had paid in advance $500 per night supposedly a 25% off deal for a hotel room. Our Selkirk hotel room could not get internet, the television did not work. We asked about getting transferred to a room with a full kitchen that cost less but they wouldn’t. There was no ice machine on our floor. The bedding was for the wrong size bed. The room above us was so loud we were kept awake for 2 hours with the floor squeaking and toddlers stomping. The front desk was less than concerned. We would have had to get up, call “security” and they might have investigated.Tonight we tried all 3 hot tubs and they were not working. Dirty, lukewarm at best and only one had jets. Brrr. Five star prices and 2 star results. Bummer

Not your average “local mountain”. Came for a weekend in February, and there were almost no lines for most of the day. The drive can be a bit treacherous in the snow going up the mountain, so I suggest you have four wheel drive in the winter. We really enjoyed the back side of the mountain, and you didn’t have to go too far off the beaten path to find fresh tracks a day or two after powder. Additionally, the price of food and drinks on the hill was very reasonable.

Mike B — Google review

Our first time at Schweitzer today. We had a great time. There is plenty of challenging terrain for all levels. Despite some recent warm weather the snow was in great condition. By most standards even a crowded day at Schweitzer is not crowded. We never waited more than a couple of minutes for a lift ride.

Beautiful resort with good energy. The road winds around quite a bit on the way up there but it’s worth the trip! We saw a cool yurt and cute cabins in the woods too. Thank you Abby Lodmer & Matt Lome for the recommendation! I will definitely be telling my brother about this majestic place because he loves to ski.

Tiny Tails Club - Angie K. — Google review

The snow and terrain was beautiful, runs were nice and long, a great variety of runs for seasons skiers to absolute beginners, BUT skier and snowboarders are supposed to be a tribe and act like it. The ticket gal in one of the first building that you come to in the village must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed. She seemed to be bothered by DOING HER JOB and helping us buy tickets. There was nothing abnormal about the request and no reason for her to be grumpy, but she acted so bothered. It made for a sad start to an otherwise enjoyable day. The lift operators seemed nice. One was singing karaoke through his speakers quite loudly (not a problem) and it seemed like they were generally having a good time. The vibes ON THE MOUNTAIN were fun too, but ppl in the village just didn’t seem to treat ppl as though they were all part of the skiing and snowboarding tribe. Parking was an absolute pain, but we did go on a discounted day, so maybe that played into the parking situation.

Thank you Charity Russell and Mark I am not sure if you work in the activity center or where you tube you were extremely helpful, kind, and patient you guys went above and beyond for us thank you.

We had an amazing 3 day ski trip at Schweitzer. Beautiful terrain, grooming team keeps the mountain pristine. Our only criticism is the parking situation... they have limited parking in favor of more housing. The parking lots are at capacity on weekdays 30 minutes before the lifts start turning. I think they need to get more on hill parking otherwise their growth is going to be limited. If we hadn't stayed in a ski in ski out condo, the parking situation would have prevented us from coming back again. It would be a deal breaker for me if we were driving to the mountain for a day trip.

Best kept secret. Fun skiing and more than plenty of ski runs for most. This is a large ski playground full of all levels of fun. One I haven't ridden was the T-bar up to fantastic open runs and if you like the trees, there is plenty to find for fresh tracks. Spectacular views too.

Tony Workman — Google review

We have been coming to Schweitzer for a week in March every year for over a decade. We have always loved the mountain for being an amazing family friendly resort and their top notch ski school. My kids have LOVED ski school in the past. We didn't go for several years due to Covid, we were so excited to go again this year after several years. However, I just found to that they no longer have a traditional ski school anymore. They appear to at first glance on their website until you read that it is only for their beginner green hill. Their other ski school is for weekends for the local kids. If your child is beyond a green skier and you don't live nearby, your only option is private lessons. So apparently only rich kids get to learn to ski beyond the green beginner level. What kind of ski resort doesn't have a regular ski school! It is too late to change our plans this year, but it looks like we won't be coming back. Such a shame. It makes me so sad to see this happening to a resort that my kids have grown up skiing at and had so many amazing memories at their wonderful ski school in the past.

Karen Kloeck — Google review

The guy who told me it's basically "Little Whistler" was right! Just look at the trail maps and compare them to surrounding ski areas. Great selection of intermediate/advanced slopes, many cornices (sick), and a couple high speed lifts. 3 terrain park options was cool too, there was the main one with rails and x games jumps, a progression park with boxes/small jumps, and then almost a large open area with naturalish jumps that was really fun on powder days. At the base there's a couple shops/restaurants which was cool to have the option. Overall after being to several ski areas in the eastern WA area, this place is worth the short drive up past Sandpoint.

Troy Timmons — Google review

We went up during the summer and had a blast with our kid and family. This place has a lot to offer all year round and definitely something here for everyone!

Misty Beckett — Google review

Since it was summertime, we talked about visiting Schweitzer Mountain Ski Lift, just to ride to the top. The road to the top is about the same as any other mountain switchback road; it’s paved, and clear in the summer. The problem was at the top. Parking there is very limited and at a distance, meaning long uphill walking at an altitude. There is a shuttle, but it doesn't run in the summer. In the end, we decided not to go because of the problem with parking.

They accommodated every need of our group of 13. The guys all had fun personalities and helped make this experience the highlight of our week long outing. High five star recommendation

One of the best things we've ever done! From beginning to end we felt comfortable, safe, and LOVED going down the ziplines! Highly recommend this activity with this group of great and knowledgeable staff!

Paige Evans — Google review

This place was so much fun! Everyone was happy and friendly. Each run, they were very thorough with checking the safety equipment and also giving verbal instructions. One instructor always goes first so he is waiting for you, the other stays to help you. There were only a couple little uphill treks, they drove you in a buggy otherwise which was nice. I had a great time and so did my boyfriend who'd never done it.Bonus part: the town is so quaint and small with good food and an antique shop.

Donya Kohl — Google review

I can’t say enough great things about the guys here! All were 100% professional and safety-conscious, but also relaxed. The perfect combo for first-time zippers! We were completely blown away by the entire crew and experience and will be back again every year!! Unbelievable experience due to the crew here, 100/10 would recommend! I was speechless in the best way!

Had a large family group staying in Kellogg. We rode the Hiawatha, played at Coure d'Alene, and had the opportunity to have a "Girls Night." We decided that a "Girls Morning" would be better, and we did the West Course Zip line. It was awesome! Our guides were friendly and very safety conscious. We zipped through spectacular scenery and had a wonderful time. The guys were jealous! Would definitely recommend!

Sierra Silver Mine Tour, Inc. offers a guided exploration of an underground silver mine that is both informative and interesting for all ages. Tickets are purchased at the station where visitors can also mine for minerals and enjoy ice cream before taking a trolley tour of the town to reach the mine entrance. The guide provides extensive knowledge about the mining process and allows visitors to operate some equipment while exploring the flat interior of the cave.

My wife and I took this tour the second day it was open this year and were the only two in our time slot. Very friendly staff and the guide who led the trolly ride to and from the mine provided a very entertaining and informative history of Wallace.Fast Freddy (awesome!) met us at the mine and guided us into the mountain. A former silver miner for decades, he provided a fascinating and insightful tour filled with details that only someone with his years of experience could. We’ve been through several mines, and this was the first to actually demonstrate working mining equipment…that really made the history come to life.Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone with even a casual interest in mining or the history of the West.

Bill Mason — Google review

This was one of the coolest tours! I had no expectations really, but it was absolutely fascinating! The tour guides were personable, knowledgeable and we felt so comfortable. We learned a lot and my son even got to use some of the machinery underground. He was thrilled! It’s cold, so bring a sweatshirt. But even if you don’t have one, they will lend you one. We can’t wait to go back again.

Liz McHale — Google review

Tours run often enough there is little wait. A lot of interesting stuff at the store/tour depot! Trolley ride was fun & informative. Mine tour was great! Lee was good clean fun, full of knowledge & experience. He gave 2 book suggestions that I made note of & plan to check out. Fabulous way to spend a little over an hour!

Lynette Straley — Google review

Took my 11 year old and 8 year old to do the mine tour. We bought our tickets at the station and mined for minerals inside the store. We also got ice cream inside the store. Then the adorable trolley came and picked us up and gave us a little tour of the town and took us to the mine. My boys thought the mine was really interesting. Our tour guide was very informative. He let the boys turn on some of the equipment. I had never been inside a mine before and I thought it was very neat. Very accessible too. There are about 25 steps to the mine entrance and the inside of the cave is flat. We drove over and did the Pulaski trail afterwards. Such a fun day!

Sceptor Vlogs — Google review

My husband and I came here for the tour and we really enjoyed every minute of it. From the trolley ride downtown Wallace up to the mine. It was a great time. Marty are tour guide in the mine was wonderful and such a nice person. I would recommend however, if you're sensitive to noise, bring some ear plugs for when they demonstrate some of the equipment. It's extremely loud and if you're sensitive to noise, it may be a problem for you. Also, if you're afraid of the dark, please be prepared that there is going to be a portion where they're demonstrating the darkness of the cave. This may scare young children in particular. I highly recommend this place in this tour. It's worth the very small amount you pay and you'll learn a lot.

Jessica Robertson — Google review

Loved this tour, great way to learn about the town. Dog friendly & they were very sweet with my senior pup. Tours offered every 30 mins. Pro tip: stop in at the 6th & Cedar before / after your tour which is also dog friendly! Street parking.

Katie Doane — Google review

First-hand narration by a tour guide recounting his silver mining work experience leads to a memorable, informative experience walking through a silver mine, with additional narration on the ride to and from the mine tunnel on a trolley where you can learn about the interesting city of Wallace, Idaho.

Mike Christel — Google review

My wife and I truly enjoyed our time in Wallace! We especially enjoyed the silver mine tour! Our driver was spectacular and the miner who took us into the mine was born to mine! He is a great man and an excellent fit as a guide! We thank you all!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Jonah Elsom — Google review

We had a great time. The tour was very interesting and Lee, our guide, was patient and answered all of our questions. My one suggestion is, tell people who bring their dogs that the machinery is VERY loud, not a little loud, and there is a vibration that will startle them. It was a great experience. I would also suggest, if you head back to the west, out of Wallace, do stop at the memorial for the Sunshine Mining disaster. Is is impressive.

Randee Jean Bybee — Google review

We love this tour! The tour guide had so much to share and turned several of the machines on. (If you have small kids or those sensitive to noise bring earmuffs) It is amazing that men go down and work underground every day for products that we never know we use. Our guide was a 4th generation miner! Will go back and do this again when our little kids can remember but our big kid loved the tour!

Emily Morris — Google review

Lenny was funny and informative. The trolley 🚎 driver was very good. Short ride to the mine, if it's hot outside you don't really need a jacket. Wear sturdy shoes, there's various small areas of standing water. And then a small tour of the town. I would recommend, but not highly recommend.

Laura Schmidt — Google review

One of our favorite stops on our trip! Well worth going!! All the tour guides are retired miners, who really know what they're talking about. Our kids loved (Lenny) our guide's humor! We were also very impressed with the trolley driver and the lady who checked us in at the beginning of the tour! She really helped us out!

Sarah Cluff — Google review

The tour of the mine which was wonderful and the guide a former miner Fast Freddie was very knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining was outstanding. I would give this place 5 stars however, the driver for the tour was indifferent to the female military members on the tour. He started out asking were there any military or vets on board. Those that were, raised their hands including myself and a fellow female military vet. He acknowledged the male vets by speaking to them directly but never acknowledged the female vets. It was evident he focused on the male vets by engaging them during the drive to the mine and back. If you are going to ask the question be courteous enough to acknowledge all members of the military or do not ask the question in the first place. The driver mentioned Wyatt Earp during his talk. As we were dropped off, I tried to engage with the driver to let him know that my ancestrial family had ties with Wyatt Earp he basically brushed me off. My friend had the same feeling during the drive. I then left and now my review speaks for itself. Without saying the word sexist I think I am getting my point across.

Florence Trevino — Google review

Scenic spot

This was our first spot we explored in Montana. It was so fun to walk around the entire falls area. There is a trail to the bridge itself, but there are some steep parts and stairs to climb to get over the railroad tracks. But the experience is worth it if you can make it. But make sure you hike up river to the rest of the falls.

B Winkler — Google review

This was definitely worth the stop! The path to the falls was only about 1/4 mi and The path to the suspension bridge was about 3/4 mile. It's a fairly easy hike except for walking up the 3 flights of stairs. It is definitely worth it. The views from the suspension bridge and also the views from the top of the fall are impeccable.

Ginger Stewart — Google review

I love being here! The path is fun to walk. There are so many great views of the Kootenai. The swinging bridge is SO MUCH FUN! There's honestly not much else to say, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Jayce Helms — Google review

Amazing accidental pit stop on our way to Whitefish from Spokane. Didn’t scope out the nice stops prior to leaving and simply stopped because a lot of cars were in the lot :). Glad we did. Nice weather. Easy walk if you’re steady on your feet (a few roots and rocks in the path along with mud). Don’t pass this up. It’s well worth the 30 minutes.

Jeff Cater — Google review

Nice quick spot for a short hike. Easy hike in, even in March where there is some snow/slush and muddy ground. It was a great way to break up our drive and stretch our legs. Views are nice, plenty of area to explore.

Sierra — Google review

Kootenai falls is definitely one of those places you could spend ALL day at! The river and all of its waterfalls are beautiful! The suspension bridge is pretty darn cool too!

Nathan Mccargish — Google review

A nice quick hike right off of the road. Worth stopping to check out the waterfall and the bridge. There is also a little store with food and drinks for a good price. We got some hot dogs and pulled pork as well as some ice cream.

Amy Fox — Google review

It's one of the most beautiful adventures I've ever been on. Easy hike in and out.. so many views along the hike too that may satisfy without doing the whole hike. The Bridge was cool so long as the folks behind you, arent making it swing too bad.... I will do this again someday.

Jc Legitt — Google review

Our visit to Montana would not have been the same without our visit to Kootenai Falls. What beauty and adventure. My wife worked for months to be in shape to be able to handle those stairs over the rail track. The trail is not smooth, so we're glad we brought hiking poles. They really paid off!Love the swinging bridge and the falls itself was amazing!Great times!

Bryan Daniel — Google review

This entire area is absolutely stunning. The color of the water, jagged landscape, and the vast blue skies made this one of the most memorable stops on my trip to glacier national park. Highway 2 along the Kootenai River is one of the most beautiful routes I've been on and barely had any traffic.

Breanna Plach — Google review

Easy to hike to - probably a 15 min hike down to the suspension bridge. Bathrooms were closed when we went through around 3:00pm, but usually they are open during warmer months. The town of Libby is about 10 minutes away. Dog friendly, easy to find parking and an absolutely gorgeous area!

Colleen Dartez — Google review

It was a beautiful fall day to visit Kootenai Falls Park and Suspension Bridge. From the parking area it is a short down hill hike to the suspension bridge. The trail is uneven, rocky, and may be difficult, the first bridge you will have to walk down stairs, then continue on the trail. Walking on the suspension bridge may be difficult for some. The views are amazing and walking on the suspension bridge was fun. I highly recommend when in Libby, Montana to visit Kootenai Falls Suspension Bridge and Park. No entrance fee.

Always a great time here! So beautiful and a pretty easy going walk down in! Love hitting this about once or twice a year!

Shawnee Webb — Google review

What a cool experience! The hike was only a mile in and it wasn’t much of a hike more like a walk through the woods! So worth seeing the scenery and the beautiful waterfalls! The bridge definitely swings just as described! Fun for all ages!

Samantha S — Google review

So beautiful. It's been over 15 yrs since I've been there and the trail is well maintained and the beauty never ceases to amaze me. Not a spot to just drive by without stopping. Always time to see and feel the awesomeness of God's handiwork at every turn. Loved it . 5+ star rated, for sure!!!

Ranch

Sights & Landmarks

I just returned from a week during the roundup and I can only call the experience awesome. Everyone on the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful, while still expecting a lot from you. This isn't a place to of if you want to be coddled. If you want a dude ranch then I'd suggest you look elsewhere. But if you want honest feedback given in a direct yet respectful manner, then I couldn't recommend McGinnis Meadows highly enough. If you want to be put to work managing steers from horseback, then this is the place to learn. They'll push you hard to be the best horseman possible, but won't let you do something that might hurt you or the horse. I'll be going back.

Clay M — Google review

Not enough words to express my feelings of inspiration and gratitude for discovering this ranch ten years ago. Buck Brannaman himself recommended I re-start my horsemanship education here in hopes that some previous bad experiences that broke my confidence could be resolved and I've never looked back. Everything is top notch quality, from the horses, to the instructors (especially Shayne, Des, Roby and Janice), the comfortable accommodations and the landscape is unbeatable. Through years of following their horsemanship program, my riding style changed completely and I now feel confident in the saddle. It has been hard work but anything worth doing well is worth the effort. They really care about being physically fit and inspired me to lose the weight that was holding me back from being a better rider. They care about the mental aspect and being in a good mind frame and honoring the horse, which surprisingly has helped me in my personal life and business career. They host two Buck clinics here every summer and what a great opportunity it has been to ride my own horse (who I purchased from the ranch) as well as fantastic guest horses and feel what Buck teaches from an experienced horse who knows their job. The horses here aren't just trained, they are "guest ready" and 100% safe for beginner to advanced riders. I have had the great honor of watching these people start young horses, restart older horses and the attention to the smallest detail and the slightest "try" is inspiring and beautiful. This ranch is truly a testament to the great teachings of Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, not to mention the great vaquero and dressage teachers who practice fine horsemanship. Come here with an open mind, leave your ego at the door and be ready to be welcomed into a place where the horse comes first and you will be rewarded with a fantastic experience that will carry through not only with your horsemanship, but in life. Anyone who wants to know more is absolutely welcome to email me from this page and I will be glad to share my experiences.

Where do I start with praises for Mcginnis. It is hard to put into 200 words the special qualities of this place.I have been coming to the ranch for Winter Horsemanship for several years and it just keeps getting better and better. Shayne, Robbie, and Des are truly dedicated to the advancement of Brannaman horsemanship, in both the horse and the student. Hands down, the best quality instruction of horsemanship in the country. Shayne progresses and evolves with each passing day, and is happy to share this progess with his students. The staff and interns are respectful, helpful, and kind. The horses are top shelf, and are trustworthy, safe, and highly trained. Is it intense? YES. Is it hard? YES. But most things worth having in life are.I would recommend the ranch, and Winter Horsemanship, to anyone who is a looking for MORE. MORE quality in their horsemanship, MORE dedication to their progression, and MORE learning to feel FOR the horse and where he is coming from. There is no where else like McGinnis to gain the knowledge of how to move forward on your horsemanship journey. Your relationship with horses will change forever if you are willing to learn and change as well.

Sometimes I feel like I'm in this shop more than I am my own house. It's my pre-designated rest area on my drive from Seattle to Montana. The top off my gas tank I go inside and grab some snacks and I often find some souvenirs to give to friends. And yes the Huckleberry milkshakes are amazing but there's so much more to the shop. Clean restrooms food options for there or to go.

Cynthia Freese — Google review

Loved it, as always! The gift shop is full of awesome things. I found this one sign that had me cracking up laughing. We also stopped at the food place their and I got chicken strips. Four GINORMOUS chicken strips with a bunch of fries. Needless to say, I got a to go box. It was amazing, and the chocolate shake I got was delicious as well. My mom said the lobster bisque, which was the special, was very good as well.

Can we talk for a second about how cool this place was? There is a tank full of trout for my kids to gawk at.The huckleberry shakes were out of this world.I could have spent all day at the adorable gift shop....and gourmet flavored cotton candy??? Need I say more?

Cirena Evenson — Google review

Coolest all in one gift shop I’ve seen in Montana! Did not try the best shake ever this time but plan on stopping next drive through! Lots of souvenirs and gifts for everyone. The trout aquarium is awesome to get an up close look and the 360 aquarium is so fun for the kids!

Great place to stop when your on the road. Wide variety of items in gift shop and convenience store. Haven’t eaten there or had a shake. Staff always very friendly and make sure everyone is taken care of. Very busy in the summer months, gets a little hectic around there, but it’s a great positive atmosphere. Seems like I always run in to someone I know.

Honestly, the most fun we have had with any Whitewater rafting company. Highly recommend this! We took the full day Raft with a lunch.

This has been one of the best rafting trips we've ever taken. We did the Whitewater with Wine option, which was a 4 to 5 hour experience. Our guide, Holli, was spectacular - a fantastic navigator who maximized the fun while keeping us safe and entertained. The rapids were thrilling, the views incredible, and the lunch (and later, the wine) really were spot on. We'd do this trip again in a heartbeat!

Absolutely incredible time! We had our wedding in superior Montana. We wanted to find an activity that the entire wedding party could do together, and Pangea accommodated us not only for the white water rafting, but for the wine float as well. Our instructors were so much fun! Amazing location, staff, equipment. Ect thank you!

Our Pangea rafting trip was fantastic! We loved our guide, company owner Brooke, who told us so much about the stretch of river we traveled through. Old basic hotel in a hippy town. If you like places out of the past, then you will love this. Picture a hotel room out of the old western TV shows. People are great. Inside tubs and 4 pools outside, one a large warm swimming pool. Live Music on weekends sometimes with dancing. Food service varies but there is usually soup available in small lobby where you will share a table or newspaper in your bathing suit or bathrobe. Love it or not, you will be in the center of times past.

I made a reservation a month in advance, when my party arrived they said I had cancelled my reservation and had no vacancy. I explained I didn’t cancel it and if I did why did I drive 2 hours to check in. They use index cards for their registrations and apparently didn’t verify any information before cancelling the reservation. They didn’t apologize or offer compensation. I have been going there every year for 29+ years. I will not return. The place is more run down and over crowed. We like to give to the small town of hot springs unfortunately we won’t any longer.

Bren E — Google review

I so wish I could give this place a better review, but want others to know about staying here.I had a good experience making reservations. I did read the reviews and wasn't scared by the ones complaining about the smell (mineral hot springs sometimes smell like rotten eggs), or even the age of the facilities. I'm a Montanan and am no stranger to older lodging and less modern amenities. We were a little put off by the fact it is smack dab in the middle of town. We were further dismayed by the actual appliance junkyard we had to drive by to get to our cabin. The cabin was what we expected. The first night we tried to go to the pools and they were full. It seemed like the people were mostly in one party and there wasn't a comfortable place in either if the hot pools to sit. I was a little annoyed that I wasn't told there was such a big group when I made reservations. We decided to make the best of it and stayed in and played games. The town of Hot Springs is mostly full of good people. I mentioned the full pools to some people in town and most of them said the people were probably employees and their friends. We did go soak after coffee. It was fine except some regular soakers were a bit... odd....and continued to try and engage us in conversations that weren't appropriate or comfortable. We went to soak again at night. There were a few people who were employees. One of them kept yelling to another one to let his dog out of his van. Several loose dogs were running around the outside of the pool enclosure while their people tried to manage them from the pools. Not exactly relaxing. We also love dogs and brought ours but walked them away from the pools just like the sign said...One of the reviews mentioned it being creepy and having many creepy people around and I have to agree. I've traveled all over alone - nearly every large city in the country- and I would never come here as a solo female traveler. It's possible that the owners only want locals. And they must because as full-price paying customers, we were not acknowledged, and hospitality is not even a word that's known here.I suggest waiting and paying more at Quinn's or Chico or Fairmont. That's certainly what we will do.

Leslie Oneill — Google review

The best natural hot spring water. We’ve been enjoying the healing water for over 3 years and it’s a pleasant soak every time we visit. There are optional private tubs inside the hotel when outdoor pools are busy.

Liliya — Google review

I believe this is my first time giving 1 Star! Eeesh, so this was an experience to say the least. And no I am not uppity or was expecting a spa like experience or anything. I was expecting clean, and didn’t get that.I guess this place has been around forever and is sort of a local institution. I’m not sure what kind of codes a hotel / hot springs has to pass when it’s a commercial place like this but I cannot imagine it passes.First off, when you walk into the hotel lobby it’s filthy and people are traipsing through with bare feet, dripping bathing suits, and some just sitting in the lobby like that. The only way to and from the pools is through the lobby to the outside. So the salt and grime is getting tracked in too. Then you proceed into the changing area and walk along sopping wet carpet that was probably laid when the place was built. There’s several stalls with grimy bathtubs and rusty pipes. This is where you can bathe or rinse off after the outdoor pools. Proceed along and you’ll find change rooms that have one bathroom stall and one shower stall to service the many people waiting around. The place doesn’t look like it gets cleaned more than once a day if that. It’s crowded and there’s no limit to how many people can pack in anywhere.Make your way back out to the lobby to the pools across the parking lot and they are filthy. Don’t sit near an intake filter or you’ll just spend your time watching hair and scrum flow in and out of the pool. The top pool is the hottest and cleanest but even that was not clean, and it’s very small. The source pool is across the grass and mud to a hut and it’s the hottest of course but the size of a bathtub. It probably didn’t help that a few days earlier we’d been at a very clean and well arranged hotel / hot spring so in comparison this was pretty atrocious. But seriously it’s been 2 months and we still talk about it!Oh well, we enjoyed a good laugh with friends and will never forget the experience!

My family and I come here on a weekly basis. We luv the private baths and jacuzzi room. All though no fault of their own, other guests children should be taught that it's for relaxing. 🤗

Jasmine Parker — Google review

We just went to soak but the staff was great, the water hot. There are 3 pools each cooler than the last. Kid and pet friendly. They also have private claw foot tubs to soak in as well.

Phenomenal experience once again and I have been going to the Symes through out the years and I shall never tire of the trip to get there. The moment I drive in to the parking lot I am already unwinding. As usual I'm always find something new about the Symes and it's historical past.

We only live about an hour away, but still love to come here to get away. It's a bit more rustic and vintage than most, but we like it. Some of the cabins aren't as upgraded, but if you like the old original vintage that's great. Plus they are more private. The apartments are great, roomy, full kitchens as well, and they have a front porch area. We've stayed with and without kids, in rooms and in cabins, it's very accommodating. There is a diner in the hotel, or you can walk downtown. Our next stay will be in one of the bigger cabins with the family. If you go onto their website they have a list of rooms and cabins with specific features and prices on each. They really are all very different. The staff is very helpful and friendly.

Crystal Perry — Google review

The rooms are completely outOf date and dirty and falling apart. The beds and couches were from the 80s and just plain dirty. I felt like I would get bed bugs there. (No I didn’t ) the pools are nice but for the amount we paid it should be better rooms. I will never stay there again. There is way better places in town for the same price if not cheaper. Go visit the pools, stay somewhere else.

Tanya Hertz — Google review

No parking for guests staying at the hotel, we had to park on the street. Check-in was horrible. The woman at the desk did not provide us with any directions to our room, pool hours, and no information whatsoever concerning our stay. When asked where to find our room she gave simple directions with a rather curt attitude. When asked about what time the kids in the pool usually clear out she was rude and said when it closes. I had to ask for my key when she didn't remember who we were upon check-in after 10 minutes of waiting for our room to be cleaned. She was friendly to family guests versus those who are kidless which is rather biased and we were there for a romantic evening. Will not be staying here again nor coming to use the pools again.

Amanda Castor — Google review

Pools are great, people are friendly and the bed was comfortable. Hotel is as described, straight out of the 40s, as is the town. Rooms are dated but clean. Couple of heads up, no Verizon wireless service in town, just At&t. Also Wi-Fi is available but you have to go to the main lobby to get it. There is a lounge with comfy chairs and fireplace so not a big issue. Will be back

Ron Kidder — Google review

Good: Great location, close to downtown food & drinks, room was spacious & clean, and the awesome bed/ mattress. Large LED TV with Dish service... fridge & microwaveBad: lots of people crouded into a small soaking tub with kids spashing around, not a place to just relax... tub in the room didn't have enough hot water available to use either...Reservation was confirmed but wrong at chek-in... for the price, we'll look at other options next time...

Keith miles — Google review

Definitely a A-OK stay. Free coffee and TV, dogs could be let in the hotel lobby. Water was very relaxing. The downside to the hot springs was the lower tub was turning green by the half hour. Food was delicious too!

CashiiX — Google review

Old building. The hotel room had a bathroom and bathtub. Bathtub still had a wet towel in it when we checked in. Wifi is super spotty. ALL the water smells and tastes like egg water. The so-called hot spring at this place is nothing more than a glorified hot tub. Would not recommend.

Ivan — Google review

What a fun experience! The water was HOT and my skin felt so smooth afterward! We didn’t do the private soaking tub but I took a pic! Would be a cool experience.

Hanna Harrison — Google review

Upon first arriving my mom and I joked about it being a hostel murder movie scene. It didn’t get much better when walking into the building. The hallways aren’t well lit. The walls need fixed. The local addicts hang out in the mineral pool from the second they open till the second they close. The hot pool is always packed and it didn’t seem any of the water was really filtered. There were small rocks thrown in the big pool and leaves and sediment floating in the water. I understand it is a historical building and is very old but it doesn’t seem like it could possibly be up to code. The town of hot springs itself is a very beautiful town though. Lots of great scenery and wildlife throughout. If I ever come back to the Hot Springs area I will find different sleeping accommodations.

Michelle Phay — Google review

It was my first time visiting Symes and will come back again. The Hotel is very dated with lots of historical touches. Don't go expecting luxury but instead a trip back in time. It feels a bit like you're in an old western movie. The place is about as clean as it can be for the age and lack of upgrades. However it's very charming and once you acclimate to your surroundings you get into the groove. The pools are nice and hot. The pools can vary in the number of guests who are soaking at any one time. We never felt like it was too crowded. The town of Hotsprings is also historic and has some fun gems to discover. It's worth walking around to explore. It's a poor community and it shows but go there with an open mind and you will enjoy it much better.

We had a great 2 days on the river with Montana River Guides. Mike, Caleb, Amy and Squid were amazing guides for our Rafting and River Boarding trips. They are not only professional and focus on safety, but are insanely fun people too.And if you have done White Water Rafting and want to take your adventure to the next level, River Boarding is amazingly fun, and these guys will get you down the river in ways you've never imagined.Go to Montana and meet this team, they rock!

We had an outstanding time on our trip this past week. River and Katie did an excellent job guiding us in what to do and providing history and information along the way. The scenery was beautiful. We stopped for dinner along the river and the food was delicious! Would definitely recommend Montana River Guides to anyone looking for a fun filled day!

Our Montana River Guide trip down the Clark Fork was the highlight to our Montana vacation. Our guide let us paddle some while we were going thru the rapids which was an awesome experience. Weather and sun on the morning trip made for some great pictures.

My family and I had an epic time rafting the Clark Fork river with Montana River Guides today. Our guide Caleb (pictured below) made sure we had a fun and memorable time blasting through gnarly rapids, relaxing on the lazy flats, and cliff-jumping into the river. The scenery is second to none and there a lot of eagles and ospreys flying around. The lunch provided was delish (except for the rasberry-lime sparkling water—yuck). Lunch consisted of a bacon and turkey wrap, chips, a drink, and a cookie. This was also a great trip for older children and adults. If you’re ever in Missoula during rafting season, book a trip with Montana River Guides.

What a fabulous morning was had by 6 ladies, 5 that had not gone floating before. Richard our guide was so kind and interesting that it made the experience even better. We are a group of ladies, friends from high school who get together each year to experience something new, chat, relax and just enjoy each other. Richard made this experience extra special and we are thankful to him. Thank you Montana River Guides for a memorable morning and experience.

We have taken many rafting trips over the years and hands down this was one of the best ones yet!!! We took a private full day rafting tour with river side picnic and couldn’t have had a better time!! Our guide set up the best lunch spread at the waterside including fresh fruit and veggie trays, salad, sandwiches, chips/salsa, and the best homemade cookies!!! We had many stops, chances to swim, small cliff jumping, and the most beautiful scenery!!! Shout out to Amy as being the most fun guide to our crazy “Billy Goat Cyrus” group from Texas!!! Request her and you won’t be disappointed!!!

Amazing guides, super fun times on the river, highly recommend!!We just spent 2 days on the river with Montana River Guides & we couldn’t be happier about our experience!Day 1 did a rafting trip down the river. Aimee & Quaid were the most fun & friendly guides for our adventure, filling the trip with excitement, guidance & plenty of jokes!Day 2 we went for some river boarding! What a fun & immersive way to experience the river! This was a completely new experience for most of us and with Mike & Caleb as our guides we were in the best hands. They lead us safely through & did such a great job explaining how the river flows and what to watch for. We had a blast going head first through all the rapids & gliding along! Can’t say enough good things about the 2 days & our guides! Can’t wait to come back & hit the river with them again!

All my summer visitors get a rafting trip on the Gorge with Montana River Guides, and they all say it was the highlight of their visit. In 15 years, I've never had a bad trip! What impresses me most are the awesome people skills of the guides: they can manage a raft with young kids, a grandmother, and Eastern 'dudes' (the ones who don't want to keep their feet tucked), and turn us into a high-oars team before we hit the first rapids (we were the "Ice Cream Eagles"). I'm already recruiting unsuspecting family for next summer.

There were three of us over 60 year old gals on our trip. Our guide, Jack, was outstanding. We felt safe and secure under his care the whole time while having the time of our lives. The beautiful scenery and wildlife were a bonus to the incredible river with its rapids along with calm areas to relax & enjoy the ride. Top on my list of the other incredible things we did this summer.

One of the best experience in the US was spending our Sunday with Montana River Guides! The crew was able to accommodate to over 60 of us on the YSEALI alumni tour and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our time on the river - Whitewater Rafting or Scenic Tour. Guides are 100% professionals who have fun with safety in mind. Highly recommend and must visit when you're in Montana. Thanks for the memories!

Very Fun and I truly felt safe in there hands. It was me and my daughter so I was a bit nervous since it was are first time on white water. They not only keep ya safe they also have a rescue boat follow! They provide a wet suit and life vest! I 100% would say go for it. Lunch was really good too!

My girls and I had an amazing time on a full day float with our guide Lane. Lots to see between rapids and Lane was on top of it all. The lunch stop is perfectly timed and make sure you take a dip in Fish Creek to cool off. Overall, the best company to go with rafting with. TJ and the rest of the guides were really helpful as we got suited up. You can’t go wrong with Montana River Guides! (Photo by Montana River Photography)

Nature & Wildlife Areas

The Bison Range Wildlife Refuge is a vast native prairie land that serves as a sanctuary for various wildlife species in Montana. Visitors can enjoy viewing bison, elk, pronghorn, deer, and mountain sheep up close through the 19-mile long Red Sleep Mountain Drive loop road. A visitor center and several trails are also available for exploration. Non-tribal members are required to pay an admission fee of around $15-20 per car to drive around the area.

Unbelievably cool place to go to see bison and just about every other species of wildlife Montana has to offer. I would definitely talk to the people of the visitor sent her first to see which direction you should take first because the park is fairly large. Highly recommended!

Rob Birdwell — Google review

Visiting the National Bison Range was an unforgettable experience. The sprawling landscapes and the majestic sight of bison roaming freely were awe-inspiring. The well-maintained facilities and informative visitor center provided great insights into the history and ecology of the area. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing our visit with fascinating stories and facts. The opportunity for wildlife photography was exceptional, with not just bison but also deer, elk, and various bird species. This visit was educational, serene, and visually stunning, a must-see for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.

Beautiful drive and you get to get right up close to the Bison! We also saw white tailed deer and cows during our trip there. Gorgeous views of the mountains, and you even drive by a charming creek for a bit.

We are full time RV travelers and met our good friends in Thompson Falls. They took us to the Bison Range. It is well worth the hour and half drive through the range. You can stop and just view the bison and elk roaming free. Majestic animals are best when they are free. We saw Elk, Bison, a deer with a little doe. and Antelope in the distance. The employees are very nice and will answer any questions you have.

Enjoyed this so much!!! We've been hiking in Glacier Natl Park, wondering where all the Montana animals are... well, we found them at the Bison Range! Well worth the trip - do the 19 mile drive if you have a couple of hours, it's worth your time!

Amy Cochran-Wiedrich — Google review

This was one of the best places to go on our Montana trip! Breathtaking views, and it was so nice to see the bison herds! The museum was very informative, as I am a tourist and had no idea about the history of the area. I am very happy to see that the local tribes have taken over management of this land and the bison herds. Staff at the visitor were helpful and nice.

Beatriz L — Google review

Enjoyed a leisurely drive on the longer of the two loops through the Bison Range, beginning about 1:30pm. $20/car. Just a few sightings on the first half, but a few gatherings of bison towards the end of the almost 2-hour drive. No getting out of the car. First section was a one-way road, then it was divided, though no visible markers. Just the kind staff gentleman who was making rounds backed up to inform us.A pleasant way to see the bison. Saw a few deer as well, but no elk on our afternoon trek.Highly recommend if you’ve never seen these beautiful creatures outside a zoo.

Sue Martindale — Google review

The Bison Range is such a good place to go when you’re looking for wild life and if enjoy slow steady rides in the out doors. Many bison, antelope, elk, and eagles. Non tribal members pay a fee to drive around, usually $15-20 a car. Worth the money.

Trinity O?rien carpentier — Google review

Stunning views of Montana as you drive through a preserve and see herds of bison and deer. Strongly suggest taking the high road as the views are spectacular.

BezikP51 — Google review

1) If you're really afraid of heights it might not be for you . It's a steep (at times) ride up a mountain 2) you'll definitely need a car wash afterwards. 3) it's a gravel road, so if you're picky about your car......4) It's INCREDIBLE! WORTH my fear of heights and we saw plenty of bison and an elk. Do it!

Lisa — Google review

what an excellent place to go, this place is very well-maintained. The price was very reasonable, and just $10 per car. We had a great time we took the hour long drive, and we were able to see Buffalo, some elk, and pronghorn antelope. It was really cool just to see them pop up out of nowhere. The terrain is beautiful and it is well worth the time and effort it took to find this place. You will not regret driving out here, it is just a real special place.

Josh B — Google review

Stop at the visitor center for $10 admission, and spend some time with the exhibits. Important history lessons. On the drive are gorgeous views! Saw snakes, birds, bison, elk, deer, and antelope. SO worth the 2 hour drive for us to get there. Take the long loop - you won't regret it!

Barbara V. — Google review

The first time I went was in fall and the Elk were bugling, which was awesome to see/hear. Both times I've been back, the bison have been pretty close. I've also seen antelope and deer, but have missed the big horn sheep. Love that this place belongs to CSKT now.

Diadra Goldes — Google review

Roads were not fully open because it is early in the season so I was a bit disappointed by that. But the place is beautiful, the Tribes have done good with it. Lots of nice picnic areas! A few short nature trails with lots of benches to sit on.

Will MacPheat — Google review

Love this place so much!! Sometimes it's hit and miss on how close the animals are and how many we see. It's amazing when they are up close to the cars, even seen a momma and baby bear one year. Totally recommend going with the family.

Super cool museum. The only thing is that it's not very accessible. Most buildings have stairs and no ramps, and are cramped so people in wheel chairs or with strollers etc can't really view most of the museum. Besides that it's amazing. You can interact with alot of the items in the museum.

Hailey Nicodemous — Google review

After glacier national park and Flathead lake this museum was ranked high on our must see for our Montana trip. It was a wonderful way to spend the day. In one day it's impossible to see the entire museum but we only had a week. Thousands of great old items and wonderful metal art . Spend some time, make a donation. This place should live on forever. The amount of love and work that went into building it and continues to keep it going is astounding. 5 stars, the best. Don't miss it.

Very unique museum. If you want to see the whole place you need several hours. We were short on time but really enjoyed seeing everything we could fit in. The owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the things in their museum.

During my weekend getaway to Montana this museum was the highlight of my trip. ♥️ The owners were extremely welcoming. There were so many amazing things there. When I go back to MT I’ll have to visit again. My favorite things were being able to sit in the helicopter, the 1912 juke box from Chicago, and the old passenger Indian motorcycle. I love that they have things you can play with and interact with. Absolutely worth a visit!

Not everyone visit this place when traveling to Montana, but i must say this is a DO NOT MISS spot. This place is 100 times better than any famous American history museum. Ill be making a few social media videos about this place because i really want everyone to know more about it. It deserves more relevance. Worth every penny and i only regret not having a few more hours to spend here. Definitely an important stop for anyone traveling between Bozeman and Glacier National Park

We have driven past the museum so many times, but never when it was open! Today it was! My husband (a history buff) was so excited and loved sharing and showing our son all the different memorabilia. Now, touring the inside of the building with a 3 year old....not a good time, but once we got outside...it was a new world! Both my kids loved it, my husband loved it and he is already planning to go back without the kids! Lol

I was absolutely amazed by the amount of stuff this museum has on display. 40 buildings with everything you can imagine from the past. Definitely a must see and inexpensive to get in. I added 50 pictures. I took about 200.

This is by far the best museum I have ever visited, and I've been to a lot. Its not as polished as some, but it has its own flavor and you can't beat how interractive you can be with it. There is something for everyone, and the sheer diversity of what you can find is staggering. You can stay there for hours and you'll still only really get a rudimentary vibe for everything. I spent way too much time dinking around in the little UFO play area. Do not miss all the interractive gizmos there. I loved it. 10 bucks for an adult made me feel like a highway robber by the time I'd left

Vectra 407 — Google review

This is a truly interesting place. It's going to be a bit difficult to describe. The scope of this museum's exhibits is truly extensive. There are exhibits and artifacts covering nearly every aspect of the history of how people lived and worked covering the early 19th century to the mid 20th century.Out back, --- okay this is a very specific reference --- but it's almost like Valkenvania from the (bad) film Nothing But Trouble, but in a good way. There are a huge number of mechanical artifacts, some restored, some in their natural condition, some turned into welded found-object art and sculptures. Some of the exhibits and artifacts are interactive, and these are clearly marked with signage, and I'm sure kids will love this. Even as an adult I enjoyed sitting in the Huey helicopter, putting my hands on the controls and looking around trying to make sense of the panels. Many of the exhibits and recreations are finely curated, however there is also a large portion of the collection which is more "raw" -- personally I enjoy that. Overall the museum is on the lighter side with regard to the "interpretive" aspect of curation - to me, at least, in many ways this is more interesting than every single thing being labeled and explained - but one should enter not expecting signage on each and every thing as if it were the Smithsonian.Got a chance to briefly chat with the founder while I was there, and he is a friendly and fascinating guy, and offered some suggestions of other museums we should see while on our trip!Overall, this place is a can't-miss. I doubt you'll find anything else like it in the nation, and am positive there is something for literally everyone here.

Fantastic place to visit and see all the historical machines that built this great country. Absolutely amazing place you can’t see it all in one day so we will be back

Brian Clyde — Google review

This has been the best museum I've ever been to. We just spent 4 and a 1/2 hours exploring and were so excited to be there. Alot of American history and interactive, we got to sit in alot of vehicles and ring bells and all sorts! I can't recommend this enough, this would have to be at the top of my favourite days we've had in America & Canada (in 8 months) and we nearly drive straight past it and missed it. So much stuff but it's all so cool and interesting and so many different exhibitions. Some of my favourites were the old car sheds, the diner, the fur shed, the army vehicles. There's so much to see and for all of $10usd ea. The owners were greeting people and were genuinely interested in us. Thank you for creating this place, it looks like a lot of handwork, effort, time and money has gone into this Museum! From the New Zealanders

georgia mullane — Google review

Visited here with my wife, her brother, his wife and their teenage son. This is definitely an eclectic, roadside museum. It is WAY larger than it looks, with a ton of small buildings behind the large road facing building and each one packed floor-to-ceiling with all sorts of things historic, military or antique. There are a lot of motorcycles, guns, military vehicles and aircraft. There are also a lot of antique household items. My brother-in-law and his son especially enjoyed the large building of blacksmith materials. There were some interesting items to me (like the helicopters, some gigantic rifles, and -strangely- the old dilapidated carnival ride), but I got overwhelmed pretty quickly with how much there was to see. Honestly, a lot of times I wondered why something was displayed. The largest buffalo killed in Montana made sense, tons of spark plugs not as much. It was relatively pleasant though, but would benefit from some heavy handed selective curating. I wouldn't recommend this for small children, as there is not a lot to catch their interest that they can interact with safely. Half our group really liked it. The museum, as you might guess by the name, has a strong patriotic, constitutional theme. The overall repeated message is that freedom must be paired with responsibility.

Erik Boehm — Google review

This place is amazing. What I post is a miniscule amount of what this place has. Definitely worth a full day. They also demo much of the equipment. Great people working there.

teresa redfield — Google review

Hands down my favorite museum outside of the Wright Patterson. Obviously comparing the two is out of the question, but the fact remains; this is my second favorite of all time. The admission price is a bargain as well. I found myself throwing money in the donation bins out of sheer thankfulness of keeping so many awesome things from becoming scrap. The Miracle Of America has more rare items outside in the dirt than some museums have on display. Although many displays are crude, or hastily put together, do not mistake that for second class. The sheer number of items simply could not be properly displayed. While the displays could have been condensed and the mishmash avoided, that would have meant never seeing some of the neatest artifacts of our history. These "extras" are normally locked away in storage. However, that misses the point. I WANT to see 2-3 versions of the same piece, in different states of use and abuse out in the open. I do NOT want to only see single, perfectly restored, versions behind glass and under blinding lights. The rawness shows the real history of the items. That smell, some may find as unappealing, is just another sensory input to bring me back to the time periods where these items were born. Each fleck of paint missing a story unto itself.Anyone that is enthusiastic about anything mechanical, as I am, you will have the time of your life finding all the seemingly forgotten treasures in every exhibit. I, more than a dozen times, found myself gasping at the sight of something so rare I had only ever read about it. Eagle eyes will be rewarded with many one-of-a-kind treasures. Give yourself several hours to take a fraction of all of it in.

Matt Dillon — Google review

Surprisingly large museum. I have been there many times and I always find new things. Every inch has some hidden or not so hidden historical treasure.I helped for a handful of years in the blacksmith shop for the living history days. That's always a good time.
