Some highlights from the upcoming RSATC series:

  • Robert Fripptalks about playing “about nine notes a second in the fast pass” ofFrame By Frame. Also about the early years of King Crimson when Jimi Hendryx “came down to see us and he came up to me and said, ‘shake my left hand man. It’s closer to my heart.’”
  • Jane Wiedlintells about The Go-Gos’ punk roots in Hollywood and how they were able to make their first video (Our Lips Are Sealed) thanks to “Miles Copeland who also happened to manage the Police…Well I guess they had $6,000 left out of one video budget. And that’s what we used to make that video.”
  • Melissa Etheridgesays why she loves the reaction format, “I love people discovering music. It’s something I love about your generation, that you really dig deep and you find what you love and you follow that track. And it just gives me faith in music and music lovers.”
  • Peter Noonetells how Herman’s Hermits’ songNo Milk Today“was like the first divorce song, and it was like ahead of its time. We had the song for a couple of years before we recorded it, the Holies had a go at it and nobody could figure it out. And then, as you’ll hear in the record, John Paul Jones, who was a local boy, just a kid in another band, came along. He was in Led Zeppelin. He wrote a string arrangement and then came to the session and played bass on it and turned it into…a miraculous recording session.”
